What are your hours of operation? [top]

Our Chicago location which includes our lighting showroom, electrical materials counter and electrical sales office is open from 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday. We are open Saturday from 9am to 1pm.  We are closed on Sundays in Chicago & Elgin.  Click here to see our Glenview showroom store hours, where we are open 7 days a week.

 

Our Elgin location, which includes our commercial lighting department, is open from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. The commercial lighting department closes at 5pm Monday through Friday. This location is closed Saturdays and Sundays. More detailed information about our hours of operation is available on our location information page.

Our Chicago location is at 4240 W. Lawrence Avenue, which is between Elston and Pulaski in Chicago. • From I-90: exit at Lawrence Ave and go 1 mile east. We are at the corner of Lawrence at Tripp Ave.

• From I-94: exit at Cicero Ave and travel south on Cicero to Elston Ave. Take a left on Elston and go to Lawrence Ave. Take a left on Lawrence and we are about 6 blocks east on the north side of the street.

 

Our Elgin location is at 1625 Dundee Avenue, Unit F. From I-90, exit at Highway 25. Go north (a right from the exit ramp) across the highway, and take a right at the first light, which is Brandt Road. Take the second right into the parking lot and we are the first unit in the back building.

 

 

Can I contact Active after hours? [top]

Yes, you can call (773) 282-6300 and follow the prompts to leave a voice mail message or listen to our hours and get directions. Everyone returns voicemail messages promptly.  Active also offers an after hours emergency service. Please contact our inside sales force at (773) 282-6300 for more information about this service.

 

 

What are your shipping policies? [top]

Active makes daily deliveries for customers on open account to locations throughout Cook, Lake, McHenry, DuPage, and Kane counties, as well as some parts of Will County. We also use UPS and other common carriers; as well as direct shipments from vendors when appropriate. In most cases, orders placed before 5pm will be shipped the following day if the items are in stock. Active will also deliver COD orders for a small fee.

All payments should be sent to Active Electric Supply Company at the following address:

Who should I talk to about my account? [top]

For questions on obtaining credit or on the status of your account, please call our credit manager Linda Fox at 773-427-3371. For help resolving billing problems, call Michelle Hartsburg in Elgin at 847-289-5600 x493. Send waivers, tax, and job information to Michelle in Elgin as well.

 

 

Tell me about Fox Lighting Galleries. [top]

Fox Lighting Galleries are the residential lighting showrooms of Active Electrical Supply. Our lighting showrooms in Chicago and Glenview display hundreds of fixtures in a wide range of styles to fit all budgets. Our lighting consultants can help with everything from a single fixture to laying out the lighting in an entire house or condo. We also carry ceiling fans, mirrors, electric fireplaces, and dimmers. There is no residential lighting showroom at our Elgin location.  The residential lighting manager is Skip Leigh (773-427-3344). How do I return an item to Active? [top]

You can bring your return items to our counter or will call areas and our sales staff will process your return. You may also contact your sales person, who will write up a return authorization and schedule a return date for the items. Active may charge a restocking fee for certain items. Non-stock and special order items may only be returned if the manufacturer will accept the item for return.
